How To Make Whipped Coffee

Step 1: Combine Ingredients
Heat the water in a kettle (or use the microwave) to boiling and measure 2 tablespoons. Add it to a bowl along with the instant coffee and brown sugar.

Step 2: Start Whipping
Using an electric mixer, hand frother, or whisk, whip the ingredients until it lightens in color and is very fluffy. It should have at least doubled in size.

Step 3: Whip to Stiff Peaks
If you are using an electric mixer or frother, it will take about 5 minutes to whip to stiff peaks and holding its shape. Whisking by hand will take a bit longer; just whisk until you get the desired thickness.

Step 4: Spoon Over Milk
Fill a glass halfway with ice (a pint Mason jar is the perfect size) and pour in cold milk. Spoon on the whipped coffee, gently stir to mix, and enjoy!

Tips and Variations
- If you prefer your whipped coffee hot, steam milk on the stove or using the frothing arm of an espresso machine.
- Swap the brown sugar with regular granulated sugar or granulated monk fruit. Liquid sweetener will not work for whipping the coffee.
- Use nondairy milks such as almond milk or oat milk for additional flavor in the finished drink. “Barista blend” milks work well for drinks like these.
- Want to make extra in advance? You can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days. It can lose some of its fluffiness, but you can give it a quick whip before adding to your milk. You can also freeze it in cubes and toss into a blender with milk for a great frappe.
Change up your morning coffee and make this brown sugar dalgona coffee a regular part of your routine!
