turmeric root
fresh, about 1.5 inches, unpeeled

ginger root
fresh, about 1.5 inches, unpeeled

orange juice
freshly squeezed, if possible

water

chia seeds
Instructions
Peel the turmeric and ginger using the edge of a spoon to remove the skin.
3 tablespoons turmeric root,
3 tablespoons ginger root
Place the peeled turmeric, peeled ginger, orange juice, water, and chia seeds in a blender. Blend on high until smooth.
¼ cup orange juice,
½ cup water,
1 teaspoon chia seeds
Divide the mixture into 4 shot glasses and serve immediately.
Notes
For a lower sugar recipe, use less orange juice and replace some of it with coconut water for a milder sweetness.
Stir in a teaspoon of hemp seeds or a splash of almond milk for a more filling shot.
Add a pinch of cinnamon, cayenne, or drizzle of honey before blending for more flavor.
